Our story began long ago, in the 1970s with a merry bunch of 6th formers. Attending De La Salle College in Cottenera were a few enthusiastic thespians who decided to put up annual summer rock operas. After a brief hiatus, the group re-formed in 2001 to create musical productions for the next 3 years . The group officially returned in 2008 under the name The De La Salle Drama Group and productions continued to be the main focus. The Lasallian Spirit was honoured by frequently welcoming new members into the family. The committee eventually decided it was time to to move out of the school and establish itself within the local theatre community, simultaneously rebranding itself as DLS Productions. This gave rise to new opportunities for participants to venture into the professional industry.
In 2019, DLS Productions became Arthaus in order to better represent itself by combining the talents of various artists and creating an environment where their talents can flourish. Now, Arthaus will continue to embrace the ideals on which DLS Productions was built. In recent years our team has been the brains behind a flurry of innovative performances, such as:
“A War to End All Wars?”
A live walkthrough performance set in the maze of rooms of the historic Victorian fortress of Madliena.
“Belliegħa: Rockin’ the Underworld”
An originally-scripted fairy-tale that brought lost Maltese mythical creatures to life with a generous dollop of rock music on the stage of Pjazza Teatru Rjal.
“A Case of Cabaret”
a participatory performance of murder and intrigue that took place in the undercroft of a great cathedral.
“Ghosts of Christmas Past”
A touching tale woven in between classical yuletide songs, reinvented through symphonic rock and string arrangements.
Our latest venture, “The Addams Family – A Musical Comedy” saw this organisation take on its first ever fully licensed show.
Over the last nineteen years, we have worked tirelessly as a team to create a welcoming space to experience music and theatre, encouraging people to explore their inner selves and promote their ideas.
