Carmen: The Rock Musical

20th–24th November / Catholic Institute, Floriana

The scene is New York. A love triangle. The woman – Carmen. The financial advisor – Pierce. The singer – Ryder. All caught up in a passionate love a air. Carmen moves into their lives and creates havoc. She is a lover of life and parties her way through it with a melange of quirky friends, leaving a trail of broken hearts. Pierce loses all – his job, his fiancee, his social standing. Ryder is made of stronger stuff and weathers this all-consuming love well. Amidst a community of immigrants it is Carmen who brings spark and energy into their otherwise mediocre lives.

A rock opera based off Bizet’s classic, with an original script by Lucienne Camilleri. Directed by Lucienne Camilleri and produced by Stefania Grech Vella.
